English for Basic Communication

Abstract

English for basic communication is a beginner communication textbook/ workbook for English language learners in general settings. It teaches rhetoric and sentence structure in a straightforward manner, using a step-by-step approach, high-interest models, and varied practices.

Students are guided through the communication process to produce well- conversation either formal or informal situation. Explanations are simple, and numerous practices and examples help students assimilate each material.

The book contains 9 chapters which are connected to the daily conversation. Most chapters also teach simple conversation that understandable, starting with simple sentences in introduction and ending by how to handle telephone. The chapters also include instruction to do the conversation in proper grammar.

The writer hopes that this instructional material can be improve the students’ speaking skills. She also hopes that this instructional material can be reference of speaking material based on functional language.
